Our Daisies adventure began today, Saturday, Feb. 15th in Antibes at the Emmaus, which is a thrift store.
(The Emmaus Movement is a group of 410 associations and solidarity groups present in 41 countries. The first Emmaus community was founded in France by Abbé Pierre in 1949. The various current Emmaus groups, in France and abroad, are without religious affiliation and aim to combat poverty and exclusion, by various means adapted to the context of the countries where they are located.)
Melissa and I found plenty of treasures to bring home.
And yes we had to buy an extra suitcase.
After Melissa's introduction to the amazing Emmaus, we headed toward Nice for the Ephrussi de Rothschild Villa and Gardens. (Located between Nice and Monaco, overlooking the Mediterranean, the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is a magnificent palace surrounded by nine thematic gardens: French garden, Spanish garden, Florentine garden, lapidary garden, Japanese garden, exotic garden, Provencal garden, rose garden.)

We viewed the inside of the home with it's ornate architecture and lovely furnishing before we had lunch in their amazing tearoom.
Afterwards we wandered in awe at the extensive gardens, with it's panoramic views of the ocean scattered with sailboats.
This honeysuckle vine had a most intoxicating scent with its sweet petite flower. What a beautiful photo from a talented Melissa, one of many.
The next leg of our journey today lead us to Nice with a fun surprise.
The month long Nice Carnival was in full swing. We viewed jesters in the street performing funny routines and part of a colorful parade with gorgeous floats.
Finishing our night at one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Old Town Nice.
We cleaned our plates with a hardy appetite and delighted our palate with a cappuccino.
